As a way of empowering local youth from Okana community, SRI in partnership with Y-Act, had a privilege of joining the world in Celebrating World Contraception Day at St. Benedicts Nyang’oma School in Muhoroni Sub-County on 25th September 2020. The celebration created awareness on contraception among youth and sharing information on their sexual reproductive and health rights.
SRI is taking a key role in the implementation of Y-ACT project which targets youth and adolescents to access Sexual Reproductive Health Right (SRHR) services in Kisumu County by 2021. The celebration of World Contraception Day have seen SRI joint effort with organizations like KPY, TINADA, Marie Stopes Kenya, Make me Smile, Inuka Success youth organization, Meta Kenya and majorly Y-Act in taking shared responsibility in promoting contraception education focusing on SRHR services among youth and adolescent .
