The curtains came down on the 2022 SRI Annual Football Tournament on 18th December 2022, same day as the finals of the World Cup. Nyakakana Football Club emerged the winners of the tournament winning the trophy and a cash award of Ksh. 12,000.
This was after a grueling final match against home team Okana Football Club which scooped Ks.7000 in wards. Other teams that participated in the tournament included Miguye FC, Kahawa FC, Kamyog FC and Bungu FC.
The event, that was attended by a mammoth crowd of ecstatic community members was also graced by the Kisumu County CEC for Youth…Sports….Ms. Beatty Odongo, SRI Board Members and other guests. Ms. Odongo congratulated the teams and assured them of future collaborations with the County.
Dr. Jowi on his part noted that SRI has supported the Annual Tournament for the past six years and assured them that SRI will continue organizing the event and also improve on the quality of organization and awards to the winning teams.
